Who is responsible

Your Digital Team is a sole trader business. That means one person is the data controller for everything described here, and you can reach them directly at thomas@yourdigiteam.com or 07877 411092.

What we collect

When you use our tracking app

If you use our app for Search Console tracking, website analytics, or social media tracking, we collect the necessary account connections, performance metrics, and profile details required to provide the service to you. This data is processed and securely translated through Supabase, our backend database provider.

When you use the contact form

Only what you type into it: your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number, website, budget range, which services interest you, and whatever you write in the message box. We also store the selected plan and the page address the enquiry came from. Enquiries are kept separately from aggregate website statistics.

When you just read the site

Website statistics start automatically when you open any public page with JavaScript enabled. Their sole purpose is to understand and improve this website. You can stop future collection at any time using the control below. Previous analytics refusals and browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals are respected. Signed-in admin visits are excluded.

We count page views and link clicks and measure approximate active time and scroll depth. We also count referring website hostnames, broad device categories and approximate countries where the host supplies them. Page addresses exclude query strings; referrers exclude paths and query strings. Campaign tags and advertising click identifiers are not collected.

Incoming measurements are immediately added to shared daily counters. Overall page-view counts also have an hourly breakdown. Pages, sources, countries, devices and link targets are separate totals, not a linked visitor profile. We do not create visitor identifiers or save individual browsing histories, names, email addresses, form text, IP addresses or precise locations in these statistics. We do not use them for advertising, personalised targeting or tracking across websites.

Our hosting provider may separately process technical request data to deliver and secure the website. Contact enquiries and the separate client app are described elsewhere in this notice.

Why we are allowed to use it

• Your app usage — to fulfill our contract with you in providing the tracking and analytics services you signed up for.
• Your enquiry — because you asked us to reply. In legal terms, taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch.
• Website statistics — we use limited aggregate measurements solely to improve this website, with a free and simple way to object. Where related processing involves personal data, our purpose is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the website. This does not authorise advertising or individual visitor profiling.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your details to anyone.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a contact form.
• We do not start an automated follow-up sequence.
• We do not use your details to build advertising profiles.

If we ever want to send you something you did not ask for, we will ask first.

Who else sees it

The people who necessarily handle the data in order to run the site, the app, and the mailbox: our web host (which securely stores contact submissions), our email provider, Supabase (which powers our app's database and handles the translation of your tracking data), and our hosting platform’s database, which stores aggregate website statistics. Each of those processes data under its own terms. We do not pass your details to anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

App data is kept for as long as you maintain an active account with us. If you close your account, your data is securely deleted.

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within 12 months. If we end up working together, records are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and then for six years afterwards, which is what tax and accounting rules require. Aggregate website statistics are shown for the last 90 days. Older counters are removed in bounded cleanup batches when new activity is recorded; inactive periods may delay physical removal. Any remaining records from the previous opt-in analytics system follow the same 90-day retention policy and are not used for the new automatic reports.

Automatic statistics and your choices

You do not need to click an allow button for the aggregate statistics described above. No analytics identifier is stored in cookies, local storage or session storage. Short-lived page measurements are held in page memory while the page is open.

If you stop analytics, we remember that preference in a ydt_analytics_opt_out cookie for up to 180 days. This cookie contains only an opt-out flag. Any earlier refusal in the ydt_analytics_consent cookie is also respected. Clearing cookies or using another browser removes that browser’s saved preference. Browser privacy signals continue to be honoured.

You can use every public page and the contact form whether analytics are on or off. Stopping analytics prevents future measurements from this browser; it does not remove counts already combined into anonymous totals. Sign-in may use separate essential authentication cookies. This website does not load Google Analytics, Umami or advertising pixels.

Website analytics do not run when JavaScript is disabled.

Requesting deletion

To ask for personal information we hold about you to be deleted, email thomas@yourdigiteam.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. Tell us which enquiry or account your request concerns. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate your records. We will explain any information we must retain and why.

The new website statistics contain combined counts without an identifier linking them to you. We cannot identify or extract your contribution from those totals using your name or email address. You can still stop future analytics immediately using the control above; deletion requests for identifiable enquiry or account information are handled separately.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it over in a portable format, or object to us using it. You can object to future website analytics at any time using the control above.

Email thomas@yourdigiteam.com and we will deal with it within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Nothing here applies retrospectively to data we have already deleted.
