How Much Does Social Media Management Cost in the UK? (And What You Actually Get)

Agencies rarely publish their pricing. We do. Here's what social media management actually costs, what's included at each level, and how to know which plan is right for your business.

If you've tried to find out what social media management costs in the UK, you've probably hit the same wall most business owners do — vague answers, "get in touch for a quote" buttons, and pricing pages that say everything except an actual number.

So here's a straight answer. UK social media management typically costs between £60 and £5,000+ per month, depending on who you hire, how many platforms you need, and what you actually want it to do for your business.

Below we break down the real price ranges, what you get at each level, what makes the number go up, and — critically — how to tell whether you're paying for results or just reach.

01 — The price ranges

What you'll pay, and who you'll pay it to.

The market broadly splits into three tiers. Each comes with different levels of output, strategy, and accountability — and very different results.

Freelancer (£300–£800/month): One person, typically 2–3 posts per week, basic scheduling. Good for businesses that want a consistent presence but aren't ready to invest in strategy or community management. The risk here is capacity — a freelancer juggling multiple clients can't always give your brand the attention it needs.

Small agency (£800–£2,000/month): This is where dedicated strategy starts. You get a content calendar, branded graphics, captions written in your voice, scheduling across platforms, and usually a monthly report. Community management — replying to comments and DMs — is often an add-on at this level.

Full-service agency (£2,000–£5,000+/month): Multi-platform campaigns, video production, paid social management, influencer work, and a dedicated account team. Built for businesses where social is a primary growth channel, not just a box to tick.

02 — What moves the price

Five things that change the number.

Two businesses can get very different quotes for what sounds like the same service. Here's why — and what to look for in any proposal you receive.

Number of platforms. Each platform has its own content format, audience behaviour, and best-practice posting time. One platform is manageable. Four platforms is a content operation. Every platform you add increases the workload — and the price should reflect that.

Posting frequency. Four posts a month is a presence. Three posts a week is a strategy. The difference in time, creative output, and scheduling complexity is significant. Weekly posting also requires more reactive content — staying on trends, responding to news, keeping the feed fresh.

Content format. Static graphics are faster to produce than video. Short-form video (Reels, TikToks) requires filming, editing, captioning, and platform-specific formatting. If your strategy requires video, expect the price to go up — and expect better results when done well.

Community management. Replying to comments, answering DMs, flagging leads, and monitoring for mentions is a separate job from content creation. Most agencies price this as an add-on. It's worth having — unanswered messages lose you business.

Paid social budget and management. If you're running ads alongside organic posts, you'll pay both the ad spend (directly to the platform) and a management fee (to whoever is running the campaigns). These are two separate costs and shouldn't be bundled without clear itemisation.

03 — Results vs reach

Cheap isn't cheap if it returns nothing.

The biggest mistake businesses make isn't overpaying for social media management. It's underpaying for the wrong thing and getting nothing back.

A £300/month plan that generates three enquiries a month is better value than a £1,500/month plan that reports follower growth and calls it a win.

Before you sign anything, ask one question: how will we measure whether this is working? The answer tells you everything. If the answer is engagement rate, reach, or follower count — you're paying for vanity metrics. If the answer is enquiries, bookings, web traffic, or conversions — you're paying for results.

Good social media management services tie everything back to business outcomes. The content strategy is built around what your target customer searches for and responds to. The reporting shows you what moved — and what didn't — so the plan gets sharper every month.

04 — Our pricing

What we charge at Your Digital Team.

We publish our prices because we think you should know what you're getting before you pick up the phone. Here's how our social media management plans work:

Starter — 4 posts/month — 1 platform — £60/mo

Growth — 12 posts/month — 1 platform — £110/mo

Multi-Platform — 12 posts/month — 3 platforms — £195/mo

Full Presence — ~39 posts/month — 3 platforms — £395/mo

Every plan includes content creation written as you, time-targeted scheduling, branded graphics, and monthly reporting. Inbox management — replying to DMs and comments across your platforms — is available as an add-on from £40/month. Get in touch to add it to any plan.

Pairing social with SEO or paid search is where most businesses see the biggest compounding return — each channel reinforces the other. The right plan depends on where your customers actually spend their time, how often you need to show up to stay relevant, and what you want social to do for your business. If you're not sure, we'll tell you — honestly — before you spend anything.
